Located in Beijing, Tiananmen Square is one of the largest city squares in the world. Throughout history, Tiananmen Square has been the location of some important events in Chinese history, including the famous protests of 1989. Within Tiananmen Square, be sure to see the National Museum of China, the Great Hall of the People, the Memorial Hall of Chairman Mao, and the Monument to the People’s Heroes.
Qibao is an ancient town that is located within the Shanghai city limits. It dates back to the 10th century. Over time, Qibao has hardly been touched, and today, it looks the same as it did 1,000 years ago. Throughout Qibao, you can see canals, museums, and scenic architecture. Throughout the village, there is also lots of great street food to experience.
The Forbidden City
The Forbidden City is located across from Tiananmen Square in Beijing. It is an imperial palace that was home to Chinese royalty starting with the Ming Dynasty in the 15th century until the Qing Dynasty in the 20th century. Within the Forbidden City, you can see courtyards, gardens, museums, and traditional Chinese architecture.
